Birthday Nails

Happy Late Birthday to me
Happy Late Birthday to me
I like doing nail art
And posting it for you to see!

Yes, it's true. My big quarter-of-a-century mark was this last Saturday, the 27th of August. And I feel as young as ever!  I treated myself to a glitter pedi from my awesome friend Lyndsey, who I post about on here often. We were discussing fun new nail designs for her to do, and I suggested she try a polka dot french tip with a little bow... and immediately I knew I had to go home and try it!

They are my little special Birthday nails. And I must say, in the almost 9 months that I have had this blog, I can't believe I haven't used China Glaze Spontaneous yet. It's my all-time favorite color. Purple. Creme. Fabulous.

Here are my polka dot french tip Birthday nails:

For this look I used:
  • 1 coat of CND Stickey base coat
  • 2 coats of China Glaze Spontaneous
  • Acetone and a brush to shape the french tip
  • Acrylic craft paint and a dotting tool for the polka dots and bows
  • 1 coats of CND Super Shiney top coat
Happy Late Birthday to me,
Happy Late Birthday to me,
I hope I don't smell like a monkey
And never live in a tree!

... AND MANY MOOOOORRREEE ...

I Got INK'D!

While pondering what to paint on my nails this last go-around, I was really lacking inspiration. I couldn't decide on a color, couldn't pink a kind of art to try, and just really had no clue.

I went to my stash and finally decided on OPI Ink. I hadn't used it yet... so why not?! I applied 2 coats over CND Stickey base coat. On the accent nails I used my Stripe Rite acrylic paints and just swiped on some fun starbursts. The colors are magenta, baby pink, blue, green, yellow and silver glitter. I finished with one coat of CND Super Shiney Top Coat.

What do you think of my lack-of-inspiration nails? I think they're slightly fun!! I might have to try them again soon with a different color scheme!

And yes... I not only inked my nails... but I also did recently get a tattoo... (back in June)... it's on my wrist... L<3ve!
